What type of service is MovieBox?

MovieBox is a rental service for DVDs and Blu-rays, offering a wide selection of physical media to our customers.

Why choose physical media in the streaming era?

While streaming services are convenient, they often have limited selections and frequently remove content. Physical media offers a more comprehensive and permanent library, ensuring you can always watch what you want, when you want.

What's the typical rental cost per disc?

We use a credit system for rentals. Popular and classic DVDs typically cost 1 credit, newer releases are generally 3-4 credits, and rare or hard-to-find discs may be 5 or more credits. This flexible system allows us to offer a wide range of titles while keeping costs reasonable for our customers.

How much is shipping?

Shipping both ways is included in the cost of your box. We use a flat-rate shipping model, so you don't have to worry about additional fees based on the number of discs you rent. A pre-paid return envelope and label is included in your box.

How do I return my box?

We include a pre-paid return envelope and label in your box. Simply return all the discs using the enclosed envelope and label. You can put it in any mailbox or leave it for your USPS carrier to pick up.

Do all the discs in my box come in one package?

Yes, all of your discs will come in one package. This tradeoff improves shipping reliability (no more lost packages and damaged discs). We can now provide tracking numbers for every package, and provide better protection so they are unlikely to show up damaged.

What formats do you offer?

We currently offer both DVD and Blu-ray formats. We're excited to announce that 4K UHD will be coming soon to our collection.

How do you maintain such an extensive collection?

Our on-demand sourcing model allows us to offer a vast selection. If a movie is available on DVD or Blu-ray, we can find it for you, greatly expanding our potential library beyond traditional rental services.

How do you decide which movies to stock?

We source based on what's available on DVD and Blu-ray. If you're adding movies to your queue that are out of stock, we'll buy those too!

Is there a queue?

Yes, you can add movies to your queue. When you send in a box, we'll automatically send you the next movies from your queue unless you decide to opt out of this feature.

How can you change your box size?

Your box size is set manually when you check out the first time. If you'd like to adjust your box size, you can do so in your account settings.

Are you charged every time a new box ships out?

Yes, you are charged once per box and can keep those movies for up to a month. If you want to keep your box for longer than a month, you can hold on to it and you will be charged automatically the same amount every month.

How does your delivery system work?

We use a unique package solution that allows us to ship several discs at once, reducing per-disc shipping costs. Our sturdy packaging also better protects rare discs compared to traditional flimsy envelopes, allowing us to offer a wider selection of titles.

Is your delivery faster than competitors?

While our actual shipping speed is comparable to competitors, our multi-disc packages mean you receive several movies at once. This eliminates waiting times for subsequent movies in your package - after all, the fastest shipping is no shipping at all, so if it's already at your home, you don't have to wait for it.

Yes, you can request your next box before you send in your current box. You'll be able to request a new box at any time.

Do you offer movies beyond the horror genre?

Absolutely! While we're starting with a strong horror selection (as it was our initial offering), our service caters to all genres. If it's available on DVD or Blu-ray, we aim to source it just for you.
