Summary

George Melville (Joel McCrea), a criminologist, is hired onto the staff of a newspaper to help apprehend a master burglar whose targets run toward art treasures and priceless gems, on the basis that the thief and the criminologist have similar tastes. He is aided and mocked by Claire Peyton (Jean Arthur), an actress , who is appearing in a play financed by the burglar with impeccable taste.
